Soo Film Festival will return to downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, for five days of movies, September 10–14, 2025. Screening venues will once again include the historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library, a Superior District Library. (Dates and venues are subject to change.)
Festival President Jason Markstrom said, “We are excited for another year of celebrating Great Lakes films in downtown Sault Ste. Marie. The talent in the region is remarkable, and being able to put a spotlight onto it is a great feeling.”
Documentary and all genres of fiction, both features and shorts, will be accepted exclusively through FilmFreeway beginning March 10. The festival committee has set the following deadlines:
- Early Bird Deadline: April 6 (no entry fee)
- Regular Deadline: May 18 ($20 entry fee)
- Late Deadline: June 9 ($25 entry fee)
