PANORAMIC CITY VIEWS
Standing high above every other building in Sault Ste. Marie, the Tower of History is one of the most distinguishable landmarks in Michigan’s first city. Perched 210 feet in the air, the Tower of History offers unbeatable breathtaking views.
Construction on the Tower of History began in 1968 by the Catholic Church as a “Shrine of the Missionaries,” meant to tell the tales of early missionaries in the Sault Ste. Marie area. It was donated to the Sault Historic Sites in 1980 and its scope has since been widened to include local and Native American history.
