Sault Ste. Marie is proud to welcome the Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit and North American Bass Challenge fishing tournaments to the Soo this summer! These two tournaments are sure to be a hit with both professional anglers and amateurs. Along with a championship caliber fishery, anglers traveling to the Soo will have a wide assortment of lodging options available to them.
The Masters Walleye Circuit has been to Sault Ste. Marie a handful of times now and brings some of the best walleye fishermen in the country to the St. Marys River. This pro tournament is a spectacle that you can’t miss if you love fishing. The North American Bass Challenge is open to EVERYONE and has a top prize of $10,000 available. NORTH AMERICAN BASS CHALLENGE
The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s North American Bass Challenge gives every angler a chance to win a $10,000 prize for landing the largest bass on the St. Marys River. This year’s tournament will take place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 20 and 21, along the St. Marys River. Participants can launch from the Aune Osborn Boat Launch. There will be four weigh-in sessions each day and multiple prizes.
Participants must be 18 years old or with an adult, boats may have two to three participants on board. Entry fees are $125/participant for one day and $200/participant for a chance to fish both days.
