Located 79 miles (hour and a half) west of Sault Ste. Marie Natures Kennel is home to over 150 Alaskan Huskies. Owners Ed and Tasha Sielstra operate Michigan’s premier sled dog touring kennel and competitively rave throughout the world. Ed is a seven time Iditarod finisher, and both Ed and Tasha have won the Midwest’s prestigious UP 200 Race. In addition to outstanding race finishes, Natures Kennel has won many notable awards for exceptional dog care. Premier Winter Sled Dog Adventures. DRIVE YOUR OWN DOG TEAM!! Nature’s Kennel offers a variety of “drive-your-own-dog team” adventures ranging from overnight trips to full day and half day trips. The guided overnight trips are designed for beginners and allow guests to learn how to drive their own team and spend the night at winter camp. The full day and half day trips also allow guests to either drive their own team or to take a ride in the sled. No experience is necessary!
