5:30 pm – 7:30 pm Vesper Cruise

Original Soo Locks Boat Tour (Dock 1)

Tour will include Evening Vespers and a trip through the Soo Locks.

There is an open-air upper deck and an enclosed lower deck. Light refreshments will be provided.

SEATING IS LIMITED! ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE BISHOP BARAGA ASSOCIATION.

12:00 pm – 2:00 pm Holy Angels Catholic Church Sugar Island

The Church will be open for tours during this time (Please include ferry time when planning your visit).

Located on North Shore Road, this “beautiful historic mission is located in the Payment area of Sugar Island, overlooking the northeast shore. Holy Angels was built in 1856-57 under the direction of Bishop Frederic Baraga”.

The church can be reached by the Sugar Island Ferry which leaves Sault Ste. Marie on the quarter after

and a quarter before the hour. Fees are $20 per carload or $10 per carload driven by a Senior.

 

2:00 pm – 3:30 pm Bishop Baraga House on Waters Street in Sault Ste. Marie

A docent will be offering tours during this time. This house was purchased for Baraga in 1864 and he resided

there until 1866. The house was moved to its present location in 1986 and opened to the public in 2014.
