Optional 7-8pm community journaling time in listed locations

Nature journaling is a pathway for anybody from any background to discover a new way of seeing the world around them. Through observation, writing, drawing and more you can learn to quiet your mind and tune in to the wonders of the natural world that surrounds us and forge deeper connections through the simple act of seeing. These nature journaling workshops will cover the basics of suggested materials, various methods of recording your observations, what to observe and how. Time will be spent both on technical step-by-step instruction in the classroom and outside, spending time with nature (weather pending).

September 7th – Intro to nature journaling, materials, different methods, helpful resources then basics of drawing plants (Community Journaling to follow at the Alberta House gardens)

September 14th – Capturing moving animals: birds (Community Journaling to follow at the Soo Locks)

September 28th – Mushrooms (Community Journaling to follow at Recreation Hill Trail)

What to bring:
-A notebook, sketchbook or other means of recording observations
-Writing or drawing implements of your choice
