Family Fun Day for EUP Residents
May 31
Eastern Upper Peninsula residents are invited to enjoy a day of local exploration and community giving at the fifth annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Hosted by Sault Historic Sites and Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours, this special event offers EUP residents the opportunity to experience some of the area’s most popular attractions—including the Museum Ship Valley Camp, Tower of History, River of History Museum, and a Famous Soo Locks Boat Tour—with a donation at each site.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the “I Am the Storm” Mackenzie (Kalchik) Paul Memorial Scholarship through the Chippewa County Community Foundation. The scholarship supports a local graduating senior pursuing a four-year degree and honors Mackenzie’s legacy of strength, kindness, and determination.
Family Fun Day activities take place throughout the day, with Sault Historic Sites attractions open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours lobby opens at 9:00 a.m., with lock tours departing at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Attendees can also view and purchase Mackenzie’s artwork on display in the boat tour lobby.
This family-friendly event is a meaningful way to explore Sault Ste. Marie’s history, enjoy time together, and support a lasting impact in the local community. Valid EUP residency identification is required to participate.
