If you’ve never been to an opera before, this is a great first opera to see! It is a delightful story (sung in English) and features vocal apprentices from all over the region as well as local students and adults and a live pit orchestra.

The Magic Flute is a Singspiel opera that features comedy, magic and fantastical creatures. The story follows Prince Tamino and the bird-catcher Papageno on their quest to rescue Pamina, the daughter of the Queen of the Night. They are given musical instruments with magical powers to help them overcome the trials and challenges they face. Along the way, they discover the true nature of the Queen of the Night and the leader of a temple, and learn about love and happiness.
