After six long years, the Sault International Festival of Races will be returning to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan! For the first time since 2019, the race, which takes runners along the International Bridge, is ready and set to go. The Sault International Festival of Races will take place Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, 2025.

This race has long been a favorite amongst runners in the Upper Peninsula. Thanks to Yooper Running Company, it’s able to return following a long hiatus for its 11th running. Early bird registration is now open throughout the end of 2024.

Festival of Races Runners

The revamped Sault International Festival of Races will be headlined by the 5 Mile Bridge Run taking place on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. This is the race that’ll give runners the opportunity to run across the International Bridge that connects the Twin Saults. It’s your chance to get stunning views of the Soo Locks, the St. Marys Rapids, passing freighters, and more!

This race will begin and end at the campus of Lake Superior State University. Runners will not need a passport to participate, as the race will turn around before reaching the Canadian customs. Please be advised, for those traveling from Canada, the International Bridge will have a closure that’ll be announced later. Please give yourselves plenty of time in case of traffic backups.
