The National Walleye Tour is returning Sault Ste. Marie and it is planting the seeds to help prepare the anglers of the future. At the conclusion of the tournament’s weigh-ins on Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m., the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) will be hosting its “Future Angler” Fishing Clinic.

The clinic will be put on by NPAA member Jason Przekurat. The first 200 kids who attend the clinic will be given prizes that include a rod and reel or an Invaders T-shirt. Parents are welcome to attend as well.

The “Future Angler” Fishing Clinic on Friday takes place at a great time and can help prepare anglers 16 and under for the Connor Gorsuch Kids’ Fishing Day the following day. The annual Kids Fishing Day will take place at Rotary Park from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday. Registration will be taking place 8 – 9, children under 8 will be able to fish from 9 – 10, kids aged 9 – 16 will be able to fish 10-11, and all registered children will be able to fish from 11 until noon.

All registered kids at the Connor Gorsuch Kids’ Fishing Day can catch up to three fish. Wilderness Treasures is providing the bait. Some fishing equipment will be required. This event is free and open to the public.
