Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Feb. 25, 2025—The Sault Area Arts Council (SAAC) invites artists from across the Nation to submit artwork to its upcoming Narratives in Fiber exhibition. The exhibition will be displayed from May 15 to June 21 at the SAAC’s Olive M. Craig Gallery in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. All varieties of fiber artists are encouraged to apply.

“Our Narratives in Fiber show celebrates creativity in a medium that is both ancient and cutting-edge,” said Agatha Colbert, SAAC board chair. “Fiber art includes weaving, quilting, embroidery, felting, knitting, and more, showcasing a vast range of textures, patterns, and structures. Every piece carries the artist’s touch, often reflecting cultural heritage, personal stories, or experimental techniques. This exhibition will highlight the voices of artists who use fiber to tell powerful stories.”
