The fun doesn’t stop in downtown Sault Ste. Marie this holiday season. Make sure to head downtown Saturday, December 14th for the Christmas Open House! Celebrate the season with activities for the whole family. The open house is also the perfect time to check out some downtown shops and attractions that you may have never seen before.
This year’s Downtown Christmas Open House will be taking place on Portage Avenue and Ashmun Street with events taking place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The holiday classic brings back memories of olden days complete with horse-drawn carriages transporting shoppers from one destination to the next, jingling all the way.

Avery Center Activities
No Christmas is complete without a picture with Santa Claus! Head over to the Avery Center and admire the Community of Christmas trees. The Girl Scouts will also be making an appearance accepting donations of new winter clothing and toys for local foster children. For more information click here. Alberta House Arts Center Open House
Visit the Alberta House Arts Center and check out the featured artists for December and create a free holiday craft!
Chippewa County Historical Society
The Chippewa County Historical Society will be displaying model trains and other collectible toys.
